Warranty Guidelines
Before using any MONITECH product, review the provided documentation carefully. The warranty will be voided if:
- Unauthorized repairs or parts replacement are performed.
- Product is exposed to liquids, harmful gases, electrical/physical shock, or extreme temperatures (-4°F to 140°F / -20°C to 60°C).
- Electrical voltage other than 12V 4.16A is used (use the supplied power supply and AC cable).
- Serial, product, or warranty labels are removed or modified.
Removal Process
- Power Down: Turn off the main power and machine.
- Disassemble the HMI:
- Unscrew the HMI border screws.
- Unplug communication cables and power. Take photos for reference before unplugging.
- Remove the HMI by unscrewing all screws around its interface.
- Remove I/O Card: Detach the I/O card carefully.
- CRT Monitor: Remove the four nuts securing the CRT.
- Back Cover: Open the back cover and remove the power cable.
- Front Cover: Unscrew the four screws holding the front cover
- Video Circuit Board:
- Unplug the video cable from the video card.
- Remove the video circuit board for access to the monitor.
- Monitor Removal: Take out the monitor from the HMI.
Installation Process
- Mount the New Monitor:
- Place the Monitech monitor using the CRT mounting holes.
- Secure with the CRT’s original nuts.
- Power Connection Options:
- Option 1: Connect MAP331 to the Fagor 8025/8020 power supply
- Option 2: Use MAP335:
- Strip and crimp red wires to the red butt connectors of MAV335.
- Attach the ground wire and connect the MAP335 to MAP307.
- Plug the power jack into the Monitech Monitor.
- Grounding: Screw the green ground wire to the Fagor’s power supply board.
- Video Connection:
- Attach the video cable (MAV116).
- Connect its VGA side to the Monitech Monitor.
- Reassembly:
- Reinstall the I/O board and power supply
- Reattach the video circuit board and front cover.
- Testing the Monitor:
- Power the system on and ensure the monitor receives a video signal.
- Adjust settings as necessary using the monitor’s menu.
Menu Settings for Optimization
- Accessing the Menu: Press the MENU button to adjust settings.
- Key Settings:
- Width: Adjust the video width (-99 to +99).
- Height: Adjust the video height (0 to +99).
- Horizontal/Vertical Position: Fine-tune video positioning (-99 to +99).
- Phase: Eliminate vertical lines.
- Style: Choose RGB (default), YUV for monochrome, or RGB (D).
- Sync: Automatically detects; options include Separate, Composite, or SOG.
- Resistance: Use 750 Ω (default) or 75 Ω for saturation issues.
- Scanning: Defaults to Progressive.
- Resolution: Defaults to 800×600; adjust to 640×480 if needed.
- Save Settings: Exit and save automatically or manually select “EXIT + SAVE.”
Troubleshooting Tips
- Blue Screen: Ensure the video cable is properly connected.
- Missing Edges: Adjust the WIDTH setting to fit the video image.
- Blooming Text: Change the resistance setting to 75 Ω.
